It's called "The festival of Italian culture" and Five Dock's Ferragosto event delivered everything a good Italian bash should...fine food, fast cars and That's Amore floating on the breeze. But for me, the beauty of Ferragosto (and indeed, Sydney itself) is its diversity. There were cannoli being served next to crepes and the smell of sausages on the barbie mingled with the aroma of gozleme and sang choi bow. We laughed, we danced, we spent and everyone, regardless of their heritage, soaked up the real reason behind the event...the festa.
